Turtles enjoy sunny spots to warm their prehistoric little bodies. In doing so, they stack on top of each other to gain the closest position to the sun. In Wisconsin, this is a more common sight than you’d expect. Maybe it’s something in the water? Well, the turtles who frequent the lakes and ponds around Sandy Point’s resort & disc golf course, are surely no different.

To highlight this odd and fun behavior, I created a disc golf course travel poster (as part of a larger series) for hole 27, a few years back. That print run sold out, so myself and the owner’s of Sandy Point thought it’d be cool to create an alternate, second run of the poster.
Sandy Point Resort & Disc Golf Ranch is an idyllic piece of property in Lac Du Flambeau, Wisconsin; way up near the northern tip. It was established in 1994 by Michele & Mike Cozzens, and it has grown into a must-stay, must-play destination for anyone who wants to experience the Wisconsin northwoods and the best disc golf course in the state. In fact, this course has consistently been rated the #1 course in Wisconsin and #30 in the world by UDisc.
This version separates itself from the first with a slightly different color scheme and fine tuning of some other small details. The poster measures 18×24 and was screenprinted in three colors by Screen Door Studio (Madison, WI) on 100lb. French brand Sweet Tooth white paper stock.
Only 100 were printed and are available now at the Little Devil Store and Sandy Point Resort & Disc Golf Ranch’s website and on-site gift shop.
